About CertGov

Built by someone who has renewed the certificates

CertGov is certificate governance for mid-market security and infrastructure teams: discovery, policy before issuance, human approvals, and an audit trail, at a price and complexity level that fits teams without a dedicated PKI department.

Why CertGov exists

CertGov was founded by John Faltys, an infrastructure engineer who supports enterprise voice, video, and UCaaS platforms, especially Cisco infrastructure alongside Ribbon and AudioCodes, for organizations ranging from startups to the Fortune 100. That work comes with all the administration nobody sees from the outside, and certificates are a constant part of it: on the servers, on the appliances, and on the network devices that keep communication platforms talking to each other.

The pattern is the same at every size. Large enterprises buy heavyweight certificate management platforms with long sales cycles and six-figure price tags. Everyone else gets by with spreadsheets, calendar reminders, and scripts, until a certificate expires somewhere nobody was watching. With certificate lifetimes dropping to 47 days by 2029, getting by is no longer an option.

CertGov is built to close that gap: the governance controls enterprise teams rely on, sized and priced for the teams that actually do the work.

Built from real infrastructure

Experience with real-world infrastructure shaped the product. Certificates don't only live on web servers that speak ACME, so CertGov's closed-loop delivery also renews certificates on network devices such as F5, Ribbon, and AudioCodes, on Windows and Linux servers, and in Kubernetes through the cert-manager external issuer.

What we believe

  • Governance before automation. Automating issuance is easy. Deciding who may request what, and keeping a record of it, is what keeps automation safe.
  • Open source where we touch your infrastructure. The agents and connectors that run in your environment are Apache 2.0 and public on GitHub.
  • Published prices. Every plan is on the pricing page, including a free tier. No quote required to find out what it costs.
  • Your data stays where you put it. Organizations are pinned to US East or EU West, private keys for Kubernetes certificates never leave your cluster, and self-hosted deployments keep everything in your environment. See security for details.
  • Honest comparisons. Our comparison and Venafi alternative pages say where other tools are the better fit.
